Weekend Reading

Hello everyone

Over this weekend. I did some reading activities. I read the books 'Robot at the Zoo' and 'Snack Time'.

Snack Time
After reading this book, Mum and I played a memory game where I told her the fruit eaten on Saturday (pear), Sunday (grapes), Monday (apples), Tuesday (plum), Wednesday (banana), Thursday (strawberry) and Friday (orange). I also drew and painted the fruits in my art book.

Robot At The Zoo
After reading this book, we discussed about the food eaten by the animals .I learnt that:
Carnivores - eat meat (like lion & tiger),
Herbivores - eat plants (like elephant & zebra)
Omnivores-   eat both meat and plants (like bear & rat )
Cannibals - eat its own kind (like tuatara)

We also looked at:
Orana Wildlife Park and the things that we can do there
Tuatara - did you know that 'Tuatara' means peaks on the back in Maori?
Tortoise - did you know they can live till 80 - 120 years old?

Bakugan

Hi everyone

It was my birthday on 29 May 2020, Friday. Mum and Dad  got me some Bakugans. It is the most interesting toys and I love mine.

How to play the game
The Roll
Step #1 - Each player selects 3 favourite Bakugans and set up the core matrix with BakuCores.
Step #2 - Each player take turns to roll one Bakugan towards the BakuCore. The Bakugan will open                     when it lands on a BakuCore.
The brawl
Step #3 -  Add the total from that Bakucore to the Bakugan Character Card. Higher total wins.
The win
Step #4 - Continue. The player to win 3 brawls wins the game.

Day #53

Hi everyone

Dad brought us for a drive to Waimakariri River this afternoon. John and I made stone stacks to see who could stack more. Then we tried to make stones skip on the water. It is not that easy and we couldn't do it.

After that we drove to Rakaia Gorge. There were many people there so we stopped the car a bit further up the road near the look out point on the hill. We didn't stay long because it was cold and we were hungry. We ate our snacks in the car on the way home.

Day #51

Hello everyone,

I harvested some feijoa and vegetables from the garden.
Feijoas

Celery Potato

Silver beet Tomatoes

Mum will use the Silverbeet for stir fry with garlic. We always have this with rice and other dishes. Tomatoes and celery will go into Dad's spaghetti sauce which we will have for lunch today. Potatoes will be used for Shepherd's pie. The feijio will be used to make crumble. It is also nice when it is ripe and soft. I like it like that.

I wrote about Bear on the Moon for Writing Task this week. This is my video   https://flipgrid.com/fc0e43dc

For Maths, I did a video on how to do subtraction using finger imaging

Day # 44

Hello everyone,

Today is  my Godma's birthday. I did some blot printing to make her a birthday card. She is in Malaysia. We will call her later to wish her "Happy Birthday".

First I drop paint on paper. Then i fold the paper. I give it a rub and  when I unfold  the paper, I will get a beautiful print.

We will stencil the shape of a butterfly and cut it out to make my Godma a birthday card. I hope she likes her card.I really miss her and I love her so much.
